After many years of sharing our passion for gelato, Giancarlo and Daniela Cusano are thrilled to open the doors to Il Cappello Enoteca — their first full-service restaurant from La Famiglia Dolce Amore.

Il Cappello completes our Burnaby culinary trio alongside our TGM Terrazza gelato patio, and our recently opened Dolce Amore Caffetteria. It’s a place built on family, flavour, and that unmistakable feeling of Italian hospitality.

Meet the Team

The kitchen is guided by Culinary Director Chef Pino Posteraro (of Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill), whose mastery of Italian tradition meets modern creativity.

Working alongside him is Head Chef Daniele Navarria, born in Sicily, and trained in some of the UK’s most acclaimed restaurants, including Pétrus and Le Gavroche.

They have crafted a menu that celebrates Italy’s timeless progression — antipasti, primi piatti, pizza, piatti principali, and dolci — balancing authenticity and innovation in every dish.

Leading the front of house is General Manager and Sommelier Vincent Massiot (formerly of Cioppino’s), whose experience and passion bring warmth and grace to every guest interaction.

His wine list highlights the best of Italy, including Tuscan estates like Poggio Torselli and distinctive indigenous varietals from across the peninsula, along with select B.C. favourites.
